Putter Change Vaults Creel To Third Win in As Many Years
Sometimes a change is needed to find your game. Wyoming’s, Josh Creel did just that. A new putter allowed Creel to make 28 birdies over the 72-hole New Hope Oklahoma Championship. Enough birdies to win his third APT title in three years.
“I just needed a different look,” Creel said. “The putter had not been working and I decided to try a new putter. The new Scotty Cameron looked good, felt good and certainly made some putts.”
The Win Did Not Come Easy
You’d think after rounds of 63 – 64 – 67and a five-shot lead, the winner may come easy. Well, that was certainly not the case. As 4-time Web.com Tour winner, Nick Flannagan put the pressure on Creel all day. His final round 66 came u one revolution short of a playoff on the 18th hole. Creel needed a seven-footer for par to take home the win and his new putter came through.
Drink From the Cup
