Marksville, LA – The All Pro Tour (APT) is heading to Marksville, Louisiana for the third annual Paragon Casino Championship at Tamahka Trails Golf Club from March 17-19.
A total of 144 players will be competing in the Paragon Casino Championship. The Paragon Casino Championship will only consist of 54-holes of stroke play while still offering a normal payout for the field. The cut will be made after 36 holes with the top 35% making it to the final round. With the purse of $130,000 the winner will be taking home an estimated $25,000.
Defending champion Blaine Hale (Dallas, TX) makes his return to Marksville. “It will be fun to be at a course that I feel comfortable on,” says Hale. “Last year I drove the ball well and was making the important putts I needed to make. Hopefully I will have some of that same mojo this week.”
Last week’s champion in Alexandria Jake McCrory (Deer Park, TX) is also in the field. “Winning in Alexandria gives me the confidence I need to continue to keep getting better and prove to myself that I can continue to win at this level,” says McCrory. “I am looking forward to what the week has to offer and can continue my good play.”
With plenty of Louisiana natives in the field, Myles Lewis (New Orleans, LA) speaks to what it is like playing in his home state, “It’s always fun getting to play close to home on courses I played in junior golf. You get to see a lot of familiar faces whether it’s on the first tee or a live scorer you will always get a few ‘geux tigers’.’’
A schedule of events can be found here. Tournament play will begin at 7:45am all three days with players going off both holes 1 and 10. Public attendance is welcome with fans staying on cart paths and wearing masks when necessary.
