Tamahka Trails Golf Club, host course for the Paragon Casino Championship, underwent major renovations last year with the sole purpose of hosting professional events, especially the All Pro Tour. Kevin Michael, Manager and Director of Golf, gave his insight on the renovation process and its correlation to the APT.
Tamahka Trails spent roughly half a million dollars just to make the course playable for the pros. They revamped their bunkers, modified the fairways and lengthened the tee boxes. These changes have also allowed the course to be a potential track for Tour qualifiers, Michael informed.
“The golf course is truly outstanding with world class practice facilities to host large professional events,” said Michael. “We feel like we are in the top two or three courses in Louisiana. Having the casino also makes it an incredible destination.”
Tamahka is open to the public, unlike most private casino courses with lower rates compared to other casino courses. For only $69 on the weekdays and $79 on the weekends, you can play as many holes as your heart desires, not just your standard 18 holes.
“Your trip to Marksville doesn’t include just golf,” said Michael. “We have an incredible spa, steakhouse, sports bar and of course the casino aspect. It is a great spot for everyone.”
