First Round Recap: Ott Showcases His Skill & Determination

(Kinder, LA) - The first round of the Coushatta Open has concluded, where the chilly weather added an extra layer of challenge for the players in both the morning and afternoon waves. Despite the brisk conditions, the competitors brought their A-game, navigating through a course that played long and demanded precision in every shot.

Leading the pack after an impressive performance is AJ Ott, hailing from Fort Collins, CO. Ott showcased his skill and determination, finishing the day as the solo leader with a remarkable 7 under par total. His consistent play throughout the round earned him a well-deserved spot atop the leaderboard.

Hot on Ott's heels is Ryan Grider, who put together a stellar round himself, finishing in second place with a solid 5 under par. Grider's steady performance keeps him within striking distance as the tournament progresses, setting the stage for an exciting battle at the top.

In addition to the thrilling action on the course, the Coushatta Open also played host to the Valero Open Pre-Q, in collaboration with the Southern Texas PGA. With stakes high, players vied for a chance to advance to the qualifier, knowing that a top-five finish and ties would secure their spot.

The second round will begin at 7:45AM CT with players looking to get inside the cut line, which stands at 1 under par heading into tomorrow. Players will flip waves and start holes.
