GCBHS Real Okie Championship First Glance

(Muskogee, OK) – The All Pro Tour will be in Muskogee, Oklahoma for the GCBHS Real Okie Championship. Muskogee Golf Club will be hosting the APT for the seventh year. 

FEATURED PLAYERS:

Brett White from Houston, TX is certainly a player to watch this week at the GCBHS Real Okie Championship. Fresh off an impressive T3 finish at the United Way Classic, White showcased his skill and determination by Monday qualifying into the AdventHealth Championship last week. As he prepares to tee off at 1:18 pm today, all eyes will be on him to see if he can continue his stellar performance. Currently sitting fifth on the Access Golf Player of the Year leaderboard, Brett White is poised to make a significant impact and further solidify his standing in the golf community.

Wil Gibson from Jonesboro, AR is another top player to keep an eye on this week at the GCBHS Real Okie Championship. Last year, Wil found himself in a commanding lead at this tournament before ultimately finishing just behind last year's champion, Sam Fidone. This season, Wil has continued to impress with consistent performances, securing his spot as 4th on the Access Golf Player of the Year leaderboard. His solid season was further highlighted by a remarkable 2nd place finish at last week's United Way Classic. With his current form and determination, Wil Gibson is undoubtedly poised to make a strong showing and contend for the title this week.

2023 CHAMPION: Sam Fidone (-23)

Sam Fidone, last year's Real Okie Champion, delivered an outstanding performance, finishing with a remarkable 23-under par total. Fidone's dominance at this tournament is well-established, having secured victories three different times—in 2023, 2021, and 2020. This impressive record highlights his exceptional skill and consistency on the course. Recently, Fidone has taken a step back from professional competition and is now channeling his expertise into teaching golf. He is currently imparting his knowledge and passion for the game at the Crown Colony Country Club in Lufkin, Texas, where he continues to inspire and develop the next generation of golfers.

NOTES ON THE LIST OF COMPETITORS:

This week’s APT field is made up of 140 players from 12 countries. 

The breakdown of the players per country in the field this week: United States (110), Australia (3), South Africa (2), Mexico (2), China (2), France (1), Argentina (1), New Zealand (1), Canada (1), Ireland (1), Columbia (1), England (1), and Hong Kong (1). 

Action gets underway at 8:00 A.M. CT for the whole tournament. A cut will be made after 36-holes to the top 35% of the starting field, including ties. Amateurs are included in the cut number. The field will be repaired before the final two rounds based on score and players will go off in reverse horseshoe with leaders of the APT teeing off last. A trophy presentation by the clubhouse will follow the final round of play. Attendance is free to the public.
