Sooner alum, Blaine Hale makes first cut of the year

“It’s been a difficult season on the Korn Ferry Tour for Blaine Hale Jr., but perhaps things are beginning to turn around for the former Sooner.

After three-putting his first hole on the front nine, Hale made a pair of birdie putts to get back on track. He finished the front nine with birdies on Nos. 2, 3, 5, 7 and 8 before bogeying hole nine.

Hale entered the day 3-under, and despite struggling on the back nine, the Dallas native ended the day 6-under, keeping his weekend alive by two strokes.

“It’s always fun to make the cut but being here at my home course where I played for four years made it a little more special, so I’m excited to get back out there this weekend,” he said.”
